SPRING 2004

Congratulations to Gerald Griffin, Artist Of The Year 2004

Gerald Griffin, the next great African-American Master Artist has been both honored and awarded "Artist Of The Year" by Valentine New York The Magazine in January 2004. The 1st annual awards ceremony was held recently at the Schomburg Center in New York and the event was well attended by both renown fine artists and art collectors from around the world. The gala was considered by many in the art world as a huge cultural and social success and we do look forward to many more presentations by Michael Valentine, CEO/Publisher of the Valentine New York The Magazine.

In honor of this historic occasion, we will be celebrating Mr Griffin's award at a private gala for our collectors at our downtown gallery location very soon. The original piece that captured the award for Mr. Griffin was "Cain & Abel", a 36"x 48" oil fresco from the "Spiritual Journey" series. The captivating work has recently been acquired by a private art collector who had the wonderful opportunity to be present at the award ceremony in New York. The original work, "Cain & Abel", will soon be on display at a national museum in Oakland, California.

This prestigious award brings with it significant art accolades to both Mr. Griffin as a great artist and to all of his fine art collectors. If you haven't had the opportunity to become a collector of Mr. Griffin's original work, now is the time to truly ponder making that decision. As we continue to seek comfort and lead successful lives, we also want to surround ourselves with measures of wealth, both financially and spiritually such as art that reflects our inner vision.

Mr. Griffin's art career is continually rising to new heights every year as he collects art awards, is featured on radio and television and in both newspapers and magazines locally and nationally. As he travels around the country, his cultural gift of art is being recognized as highly influential African-Americans become more aware of art reflecting our culture and our lives. With this exposure on a much broader scale and to a wider audience of individuals, Mr. Griffin's work is increasing in demand. And for those art collectors who've been afforded the opportunity to collect Mr.Griffin's original work, it is pleasing to know that their collection and investment is appreciating all the more.

As Gerald Griffin becomes one of the country's most sought after collectable artist, we began to update our web site because many of the art works from the site have been sold. Some of the original works will never make it to the web site because they were acquired prior to being considered for the site. We are in the process of reviewing the artist appreciation history for Mr. Griffin and it will be sent out to all collectors very soon.

If you are currently collecting Mr. Griffin's work or if you are now considering becoming an art collector of Mr. Griffin's work, please call the gallery to set up an appointment to view our downtown location. If you're not in the market to collect an original yet, we have a beautiful collection of Griffin Collector's Editions Gallery art. This would include lithographs, serigraphs and giclees.
