A Bit About Me
A product of the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I have exhibited at several major venues around the country, such as, The Studio Museum in New York, The SOHO Gallery District, The National Black Fine Arts Show in New York, The Columbus Museum of Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Du Sable Museum of African American History, Governors State University Gallery, and The Columbus Ohio school of Art and Design, Spectrum Art Fair for Art Basel Week in Miami, FL. and The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, IN.
My work has been featured in several media and publications including, Art News, Art Forum International, Décor Magazine, Valentine New York, Images Magazine, Homes of Color, Indigo Magazine, The New York Times/Arts Section, The Chicago Tribune / Feature Story and The Chicago Sun Times/Arts section, ABC- Someone You Should Know and WGN – feature story, “Broken Chains”, Back Story with Larry Potash. List of awards includes: 1st place at Black Creativity ʼ98, the national juried art competition of the Museum of Science and Industry, Award of Commendation for Outstanding leadership as principal art instructor for the Black Education, Black Opportunity program, Official artist of the 20th Anniversary Chicago Jazz Festival and 2004 Artist of the Y ear from Valentine New York magazine. Amonst my corporate and museum collectors are: Argo Financial Bank, Alliance Relocation Corporation, Gardner, UCAN Foundation, Gardner Rich and Co., LaSalle Bank and Signature Management Group, The Du Sable Museum of African American History in Chicago and The Art Museum of Greater Lafayette, IN.
Individual collectors include: Former United States President, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Gardner, Steve Harvey, Wesely Snipes and Adele Givens.

Artist Life, NFP (ALNFP) is a world-class museum and art education organization located in the heart of Chatham on Chicago's south side. ALNFP is open to the public and presents four to nine temporary exhibitions per year with a permanent collection of fine art objects with strengths in international modern and contemporary art.
Our mission is to connect economic, racial and social divisions by providing under-resourced youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in the art and design fields.
Participants will learn the techniques and tools of professional artists and designers while engaging in education, employment and artistic exploration.
Originally located in the famed River North Gallery District in Chicago, GERALD GRIFFIN GALLERY promotes and showcases the work of a select group of artists. Now located in the Bourdeau Griffin Design Center, GGG occupies 3000 SqFt. of museum gallery space, as well as, featured art spaces throughout the 46,000 SqFt. Griffin Design Center facility.
Our work involves showcasing new and emerging artists alongside classic, well-established pieces.

The first of many art gallery locations for the work of artist Gerald Griffin. Located in the center court of iconic Evergreen Plaza shopping center. Griffin Garaphics, Inc. featured original art and custom framing services. In early 2003 the business moved to a new location in the famed River North Arts District of Chicago.
Artwerks Gallery, an African American owned art gallery in the Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago. Resposibilities included, Art instruction for the Black Education, Black Opportunity program, Art Curation and Custom Framing.
